How Maguire Advisors has guided ambitious technology companies across borders.

A strategy document is just the start. Success is what happens after: when a business is operating compliantly, building relationships and winning customers in a new country. Here are a few examples of how our collaborative approach turns market entry theory into operational reality.

Project44

Sector: Enterprise Software / Supply Chain Technology

The Challenge

A North American supply chain visibility platform had acquired Europe’s leading logistics tracking provider and needed to transform a regional acquisition into a truly integrated pan-European operation. The challenge wasn’t just growth, it was scaling intelligently across a fragmented market where each country had different carrier ecosystems, language requirements and enterprise buying patterns.

The leadership team faced several critical decisions: Should they centralize operations or build autonomous country teams? How could they onboard European carriers across 16 languages while maintaining product consistency? Where should they locate offices to access the right talent pools? And how could they position a North American technology brand to compete against established local players who understood European logistics intimately?

With over $109 million in capital and ambitious growth targets, they couldn’t afford a slow, sequential market entry. They needed a cohesive strategy that allowed simultaneous expansion while respecting local market dynamics.

Our Approach

Working with Maguire Advisors’ trusted technology and consultancy partners, Project44 designed a distributed hub model across five strategic European locations (Aalborg, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris) that allowed genuine local presence without duplicating full operations in each market. Solutions guided multilingual carrier onboarding across 16 languages and application localization in 14 languages, mapped regional talent pools to identify hires with both technical expertise and market credibility and prioritized Western European markets for initial scale before extending to Southern and Eastern territories.

The Outcome

Project44 scaled to over 300 enterprise customers globally (20%+ in Europe), with 75+ European employees across five locations, coverage in about 50 countries, and 760+ telematics integrations. The hub-and-spoke structure proved both efficient and scalable, allowing them to serve customers across dozens of countries while maintaining operational consistency and positioning them to extend into additional territories including Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and North Africa without restructuring.

The National CLEAR Programme/NHS

Sector: HealthTech / Artificial Intelligence

The Challenge

A team of NHS clinicians had developed an AI-powered consultation documentation tool that could genuinely ease the administrative burden crushing frontline staff. But building innovative technology is one thing, getting it adopted within the NHS is another entirely. The developers needed to navigate the complex NHS procurement and pilot approval process, identify the right Trust for initial implementation, demonstrate value in terms the NHS actually measures (patient outcomes and productivity, not just features) and build a rollout strategy that could scale beyond a single site.

With hospital systems stretched thin and clinical staff drowning in paperwork, the opportunity was clear. The path to widespread adoption was not. They needed guidance on NHS governance frameworks, pilot site selection, value proposition framing for procurement committees and evidence-building that would unlock broader deployment.

Our Approach

East Lancashire NHS Hospitals Trust was identified as an ideal pilot partner based on their innovation readiness and pre-operative workflow challenges, then guided the team through NHS governance and data compliance requirements for AI clinical tools. By collaborating with our network, we helped frame the value proposition around clinician time savings and patient experience rather than technology features and designed a structured pilot that would generate the specific evidence metrics (consultation duration, productivity gains, patient throughput) needed to demonstrate NHS-relevant outcomes.

The Outcome

The CLEARnotes AI tool successfully completed its pilot with deployment across 1,700 consultations at the Trust, demonstrating 20% shorter consultation times, near-elimination of lengthy pre-operative appointments, and initial productivity gains of around 10%. The structured pilot approach generated compelling evidence for wider NHS rollout and clinicians reported spending more time on patient care rather than documentation. The co-design process with NHS IT professionals ensured the tool met real operational needs rather than theoretical requirements. With proven outcomes and NHS England sponsorship secured, the tool is now positioned for broader deployment across the health system.

Ready to Explore New Markets?

Market entry is complex, high-stakes work. The companies that do it well unlock years of compounding growth. The ones that rush in without proper guidance burn resources and lose momentum. The difference usually comes down to having the right intelligence at the right time.

Maguire Advisors have guided dozens of technology companies through successful expansions across US, UK, and European markets. If you’re ready to explore your options, we’re ready to talk.
